About the Saint Joseph's Tartan

Your unique tartan pattern was created using our proprietary algorithm, which combines the year Saint Joseph's was founded - 1851 - with the geographic coordinates of its Philadelphia campus - 39.709° N, 75.118° W.

The individual thread counts reveal your unique time and place in history using Saint Joseph's' official primary colors - Gray and Red. Saint Joseph's heart, mind, and spirit are also expressed through these secondary colors:

  • Red for your desire to find God's love in all things,
  • White for SJU students' ability to ask good, hard questions, and
  • Black for your schools' Jesuit spirit.
